Dark energy containment was an extremely powerful application of the dark side performed by Abeloth in 44 ABY. She took all of the dark side energy on Upekzar and infused it into the body of Tola Annax,a Sith Saber and former ally, to lay a trap for Luke Skywalker and the New Jedi Order, hoping to destroy most of them all at once. When the Jedi reached Annax, they almost attacked her. However, Luke was too smart to fall for such deception, and restrained his fellow Jedi and advised them to flee. Soon afterwards Tola exploded, dying instantly and causing the nearby volcano to erupt. Abeloth's laughter could be heard, echoing loudly overhead; the earth began to split and shake, with bolts of Force lightning raining down on the fleeing Jedi. Most of the Jedi survived, this suprise attack; however, a few died after breathing in super-heated air, from the erupting volcano, the explosion caused.
