- "Dark-siders can be so brutish—Their minds are dulled by light starvation!"
- ―Nomi Sunrider
Darksider, also spelled dark-sider, was a catch-all term for any Force-user who followed the dark side of the Force. While it primarily referred to the Sith or Dark Jedi, it could also refer to the Prophets of the Dark Side, the Nightsisters of Dathomir, the Sorcerers of Tund, or any other dark side followers and their organizatoins.
The Dark Side users, specifically the Dark Jedi, were fueled with hatred, obsession and desire for the material world, and accepting their physical bodies. This contrasted the orthodox Jedi teaching who focused on their existence as luminous beings that transcend their "crude" material bodies.[2]
After his resurrection, Emperor Palpatine formed the Dark Side Elite, a specialized corps of seven Dark Jedi often referred to as Dark-siders.
