A darksword was an ancient weapon used like a sword. The blade had a glow or charge when activated which could vary in color.

A darksword, like a cortosis blade, could withstand lightsaber energy, though it could only withstand it for a limited amount of time and was not able to deactivate a lightsaber.

An example of a darksword was used by a Nightsister by the name of Mighella. In 33 BBY, she used it during a duel against the Sith Lord Darth Maul on Ralltiir. Armed with her darksword, she hacked into the tattooed Sith. After a furious battle, her sword could not stand the lightsaber's energy anymore and broke.
