Darrin Arkanian was a Sullustan Jedi Master. An idealist, Arkanian loved life over any other thing, and struggled to be a model of peace and contemplation.

In 22 BBY, Arkanian led a Galactic Republic task force to the Oricho Sector to provide additional security after Iron Tether was attacked by Separatist starfighters. They eventually recovered the disabled starship and rescued its crew from the Cowl Crucible.
When Emperor Palpatine initiated the Great Jedi Purge, Arkanian hid and took Corwin Shelvay as an apprentice. They were declared criminals and fugitives, and wandered the Outer Rim Territories looking for other surviving Jedi. When the High Inquisitor Antinnis Tremayne captured Shelvay, Arkanian infiltrated Coruscant to rescue his student. Arkanian rescued Shelvay, but was caught by Tremayne and a squad of stormtroopers while fleeing through the alleys of Coruscant.[1]
Helpless, Shelvay watched as Tremayne and Arkanian engaged in a lightsaber duel. In a standstill, Tremayne ordered Arkanian to disengage his lightsaber, threatening that his stormtroopers would blast Shelvay if he did not comply. Arkanian dropped his lightsaber and Tremayne killed the defenseless Jedi, gloating at his success in slaying a Jedi Master.[1]
He was survived by his sister, Dawn Arkanian, who would go on to serve with the Rebel Alliance.
