[edit] Biography

Little is known of Darsin before he became Darth Rivan's apprentice.

During his time as an apprentice, Darsin created at least six lightsabers, infusing their crystals with his own essence, so that the sabers were linked to him. He hoped to become a Dark Lord of the Sith one day, under the name of Darth Malus.

Darth Rivan created the Sith Battlelords, powerful leaders for the Sith armies. Darsin was familiar with the process of their creation.

Darsin was relatively weak-willed, but he faithfully served his master. Rivan treated him more as a servant or a slave than as an apprentice, or so he thought. Rivan also performed alchemical experiments on Darsin's body and exposed it to a Sith artifact known as the Darkstaff.

Darsin eventually died, probably at the hands of Rivan himself, and was buried in the Ritual Chamber of Rivan's fortress. However, making good use of Darsin's mummified corpse, Rivan enslaved Darsin's ghost, who was much more powerful than a common Sith spirit (if there is such a thing). Keeping him as a slave, Rivan ordered Darsin's bound Force essence to protect the fortress. Rivan left the fortress and never came back, but his order was still active in Darsin's dead mind.

Darsin learned to make himself visible and audible, although still incorporeal, and to Force-travel in no time to any of the three places of the fortress which were stronger in the dark side. He could even send a hate wave to nearby people. He also learned He still could manipulate physical objects using telekinesis, and could possess unready victims.

Certain accounts [1] suggest that Rivan's apprentice betrayed and killed his master before Rivan could create enough Battlelords to form an army. If this is so, then Rivan must have taken a second apprentice after Darsin's death.

[edit] Ghost

During the first months of the Clone Wars, Darth Rivan's fortress was invaded by a group of intruders led by Chevin slaver Phylus Mon. They wanted to perform the Battlelord-creating ritual in Rivan's crypt, and they held the Darkstaff. Darsin recognized the item his master dreaded, and vainly tried to stop them. However, although Phylus Mon performed the ritual impeccably, it did not work: Instead of raising his seven victims (three Jedi, four "others") as Battlelords, it simply took their Force essences and stored them in a crystal, leaving the bodies soulless, but alive. Phylus Mon and his minions left but without the empty bodies and without taking care of Darsin.

Hours later, a search team entered the fortress, trying to find what had happened. Darsin attacked these newcomers with his six lightsabers under telekinesis. Still under the power of Darth Rivan's will, he would do his best against the intruders.

[edit] Behind the scenes

Darsin's destiny depended on the decision of the players of A Mon Alone. If defeated, he could be questioned and would give information on Phylus Mon's acts. The players could also destroy his ghost. This decision was asked in the Critical Event Summary of A Mon Alone so that the majority decision of the sent summaries would be considered canon.
