Darth Tenebrous (Sith apprentice)[3] |
The master of Darth Tenebrous was a male Twi'lek Dark Lord of the Sith of the lineage of Darth Bane who ruled more than a standard century before Darth Sidious. During the lifetime of his Sith apprentice, who was known across the galaxy as the famed starship designer Rugess Nome, the two Sith Lords carried the Sith imperative further than any before them according to Darth Plagueis's estimation.

Edit
One of the schemes for the downfall of the Jedi that this Sith Master and Tenebrous devised was the development of a targeted virus that would sever the Jedi's connection to the Force. After many years, the project was abandoned.[3]
Darth Tenebrous's master was also known to Sith Lords following him for opening a hole in the Force, allowing the Jedi to feel the dark side for the first time in eight centuries.[2]
After years of apprenticeship, Nome came to believe that the dark side of the Force—rather than being some malevolent mystic sentience bent on spreading suffering throughout the galaxy—was merely an energy source, which could be manipulated. When Tenebrous saw no further use for his master, he killed him.[3]

- ↑ Tenebrous must have killed his master sometime after 167 BBY, since, according to The Tenebrous Way: "More than a century before, [...] Tenebrous had been but a Sith apprentice himself."
