Darth Vax was a female Dark Lord of the Sith[2] of Human or Sith pureblood descent[1] who served on the Dark Council of the reconstituted Sith Empire sometime before the Galactic War with the Galactic Republic. During her time and later she was concidred as a prominent member of the Dark Council. Vax had a son, who succeeded his mother on the Dark Council after Vax's death[2] years prior to the war,[1] and her son took on the title Darth Arrid. However, Vax's will enabled to her to persist as a Force ghost, and she began to manipulate her son, using him as a mouthpiece to continue her rule from beyond the grave—a deception that took the other Dark Council members four years to discover.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Darth Vax was mentioned in the "Force Ghost" Codex entry in Chapter XII of Knights of the Fallen Empire, the 2015 Digital Expansion to the 2011 BioWare video game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.[2]

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia establishes that prior to the end of the Great Galactic War, only Humans and Sith purebloods were permitted to undertake Sith training. Additionally, The Old Republic: Annihilation establishes that Darth Karrid was the first alien to be seated on the Dark Council, which occurs during the Galactic War. As all members of the Dark Council are known at the end of the Cold War, and Darth Arrid is not one of them, Darth Arrid's reign of four years and his mother's reign before him, as described in SWTOR mini Star Wars: The Old Republic — Codex: "Force Ghost", must have occurred prior to the Galactic War. Thus, Arrid and Vax must be of Human or Sith descent.
