Dashadi was the official language of Urkupp. It was used by the planet's native species, the Dashades.^[1]

Since the destruction of Urkupp in 3,996 BBY, apparently there had been only one^[1] or a small number of active Dashades at a single time.^[2] As Dashadi had never been a widely-used language beyond Urkupp, its speakers had increasingly seen the advantages of using Basic to communicate with other species.^[1]

Ket Maliss was the last known speaker of Dashadi, although some people thought that the Dashades might have survived the destruction of their planet by building hidden colonies throughout the galaxy.^[1]
