A datacore was a device capable of storing information. Serennian Romar Adell owned a small Type Two data core which he used to store pieces of Serennian culture including music, art and history; as the core was malfunctioning, genetically defective clone Tech assisted him with its repair when he was stranded in his house and managed to recover all of the data from it.[1] The Tarkin Initiative deep-storage facility Hivebase-1 included a massive datacore built as a vertical pit accessible only by a floating repulsor-platform.[2] The scavenger Miggs McKane managed to slice into the datacore of a crashed Imperial Star Destroyer on the planet Jakku and discovered a complete Imperial order of battle, which he then sold in order to retire.[3]
