David Benioff (born September 25, 1970) is an American screenwriter, television producer, writer, and novelist. He is the co-creator and showrunner of the widely acclaimed HBO television series Game of Thrones, an adaptation of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels.[1] On February 6, 2018, it was announced that Benioff and fellow showrunner D.B. Weiss would be writing and producing a new Star Wars film series that would be separate from the Skywalker saga and Rian Johnson's Star Wars trilogy.[2]
