[edit] History

The first non-Republic affiliated person who knew about it was Bogeega Be'Daay, an operative who informed the Hutt Cartel. Boorka the Hutt understood that the information would be fruitful if he gave it to someone who would be interested, namely the Confederacy of Independent Systems. However, Bogeega was killed by Wookiees before he could divulge further information.

General Sev'rance Tann made a surprise raid to Eredenn and stole the Decimators and a data droid. Then she moved to Alaris Prime in order to get the activation codes. Having all the Decimator power in her hands, she used it to capture the Republic controlled energy production world of Sarapin. The facility and the weapon were later destroyed by Echuu Shen-Jon.

[edit] Characteristics

The Decimator's body was mostly flat, save for a tower that sat at its center-rear, possibly serving as its control center. Just in front of this tower, in the center of the vehicle, was a large red orb. This apparently served some purpose in the firing mechanism. Even when not firing, energy passed through the orb in waves. When the weapon was activated, the energy would gather, causing the orb to glow a brilliant green, before launching a single, focused beam towards the target.

The scale of the Decimator is difficult to determine using surviving records. Educated guesses using the control tower and troop capacity as a reference place it around the size of a Self-Propelled Heavy Artillery unit.
