The Deep Prison was an underground level of chambers located on the planet Belsavis that existed by the time of the Cold War and predated the Galactic Republic prison facilities. It contained alien races completely unknown to the Republic at the time and the Esh-kha emerged from these levels after the Sith Empire accidently released them from stasis.
