In 5 ABY, he served as an Interrogator First Class at the Imperial Reprogramming Institute on Duro. As chief of Experimental Section Two, Defeen oversaw the reprogramming efforts of Triclops.
Despite Triclops's escape from his clutches, Defeen was relocated to Scardia Station and promoted to Interrogator Supreme by the false Prophets of the Dark Side. As their personal interrogator, Defeen was tasked with the treason case against the the Grand Moffs of the Central Committee.
It is unknown why Defeen did not wear ultraviolet goggles like other Defels
