The Defender 01-X was a model of battle droid that saw use during the Cold War. Similar to the Defender 03-Z but lacking a shield, the Defender 01-X carried a blaster rifle, and a number of them were deployed to protect the satellite control tower on the Markaran Plains of the planet Balmorra.[1]

Defender 01-Xs appear as enemies in the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, where they can be found in the Markaran Plains as part of the mission "Calling All Droids" in the Imperial version of Balmorra.[1]
