Dej Vennor was a proficient and deadly bounty hunter who only accepted anti-pirate contracts. He refused to hunt Rebels, smugglers or other offenders unless they had committed acts of piracy.

Little was know about the background of Dej Vennor apart from the fact that he may have been an Imperial scout. There were also rumors that he was horrifically scarred by a pirate king that killed the rest of this family. Others have suggested that this is simply a myth and that Vennor went after pirates so that he could track them to their lair and take their booty for himself.

Vennor was never seen out of this modified Imperial scout armor, perhaps because of the alleged disfigurement. He traveled in a modified Firespray-class attack craft named the Target Acquired and owned a modified IT-series interrogation droid called IT-904 that he purchased at an auction from the Armorer's Guild on Epsi Nadir
