Rise of the Empire era

Dejah Duare was a female Zeltron living on Coruscant and the lover of Ves Volette. After the Destruction of Caamas, she feared for Volette's safety so she went to Jax Pavan for help in escaping Coruscant. But when they arrived in Volette's apartment they found him dead. After they found Volette's murderer, she would turn back on her decision to leave Coruscant and join with Pavan and Whiplash.

She later betrayed Pavan and his group to Darth Vader. She reasoned that she wanted to experience the Force fully, which Pavan denied her by shutting himself away from her. She found the exact opposite in Probus Tesla, a member of the Inquisitorius.

She died when she was hurled forcefully into a wall by Vader's unstable energy after he injected himself with the bota serum.

[edit] Behind the scenes

Dejah's name is a possible reference to Dejah Thoris from Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom novels. Author Michael Reaves earlier made a Barsoom reference with Barsoom Boulevard.

Dejah's name is spelled "Deejah" on the back of Coruscant Nights II: Street of Shadows, but "Dejah" throughout the book.

Dejah's name also bears striking similarities to adult film star, Deja Daire, though that is likely just coincidence.
