For other uses, see Kee.

Denaria Kee was a Koorivar female who served as personal assistant and Chief Aide to Passel Argente, Magistrate of the Corporate Alliance. In 22 BBY, the pair attended a secret summit on the planet Geonosis where Argente and other corporate leaders pledged themselves to the Separatist cause of Count Dooku. The Galactic Republic attacked them on Geonosis soon after, starting the Clone Wars.

In 19 BBY, Kee accompanied Argente when he and the rest of the Separatist Council were sent to the planet Mustafar. Kee was present when the Separatist leader Darth Sidious then contacted the council and told them to await his apprentice, Darth Vader. When Vader arrived he attacked the council on Sidious's orders, stabbing Kee through the chest with his lightsaber shortly before he killed Argente.

Biography[]

Argente's aide[]

Born on the planet Kooriva, Denaria Kee was a Koorivar female[1] who became a high-ranking member of the Corporate Alliance. She was chosen to act as Chief Aide[3] and personal assistant to the head of the Alliance, fellow Koorivar Magistrate Passel Argente, as he was unwilling to trust his business dealings and illegal enterprises to a member of any other species.[1] As an aide, Kee was responsible for writing drafts, sending covert messages, and managing Argente's meetings.[4]

During the Separatist Crisis[5] in 22 BBY,[2] in which former Jedi Count Dooku led a faction seeking to break away from the Galactic Republic[1] Argente and Kee attended a secret summit led by Dooku[5] in the Stalgasin hive on the planet Geonosis.[1] Kee stood near the Techno Union Foreman Wat Tambor during the summit as the various corporate leaders in attendance pledged their loyalty to Dooku.[5] Argente committed the Alliance to Dooku's cause without hesitation, giving up his position as senator for the Alliance in the Republic's Senate.[1] Having learned of the summit from the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, who had been spying on the meeting, the Republic arrived on Geonosis soon after and battle broke out between the Republic and the Separatists, marking the start of the Clone Wars.[5]

Denaria Kee was killed by Darth Vader on Mustafar.

During the Clone Wars, Argente served as a member of the Separatist Council and,[6] in 19 BBY,[2] Kee accompanied Argente[6] to the Klegger Corp Mining Facility on the planet Mustafar when the council was transferred there from the planet Utapau during a Republic attack. She was stood at a console on the walls of the facility's boardroom when Darth Sidious, true leader of the Separatists, contacted the council via hologram and told them to await the arrival of his apprentice, Darth Vader.[6]

Believing everything was going as planned in the war, the council members were caught unprepared when Vader attacked them upon his arrival on Mustafar. Having been ordered to wipe out the council by Sidious, Vader killed everyone in the room, driving his lightsaber through Kee's chest shortly before he cut down Argente.[6]

Personality and traits[]

Denaria Kee had green eyes and purple skin, with the lower half of her face having become a lighter shade of purple[4] by the time of her death.[6] She stood 1.8 meters (5 feet, nine inches) tall.[1]

Equipment[]

Denaria Kee wore traditional Koorivar clothing,[1] donning a lilac[5] matron's hood[1] with a set of lilac and dark purple[5] shimmerbird tongue robes[1] for the summit on Geonosis.[5] While on Mustafar,[6] she wore a dark red outfit that complemented Argente's appearance.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Denaria Kee was portrayed by John McEvoy[7] during the character's first appearance in the 2002 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.[5] The character's death scene in the 2005 sequel, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, was filmed on Stage 7 at Fox Studios, Sydney on September 8, 2003.[8]

According to early set photos and reference sheets for Attack of the Clones, Kee was known during production as "Twink Kee," a pun on the popular twinkie pastry.[9]
