Galactic Empire[2]

Dengless Rinn was a male Human bureaucrat working for the Galactic Empire. He was noticeable for his long moustache and beard, severe eyes and fierce expression. He was younger than he looked like, and was considered arrogant and self-important.[1]

Rinn was the Imperial prefect of mining planet Kallistas, an underling of Governor Linrec. He despised Linrec because he considered himself overqualified for his own job, and desired promotion.[2]

For years, Rinn's nemesis was Rebel agent Pallas Quintell. Eventually, a bounty posted on Quintell's head led to him being captured by novice bounty hunters Sirenas Firil and Chandrex Grenn.[2]

Linrec had arranged his daughter Cressis's wedding to Moff Raiss. Rinn considered himself a better suitor and, thus, thought that Linrec was trying to insult him personally. He decided to organize a coup. Rinn contacted the Mantis Syndicate and smuggler Tarquin Zian, offering Zian some illegally-obtained Kallistan gems in exchange for weapons.[2]

However, disliking Raiss, Cressis decided to run away with a local pirate, Jondrell Inx. Inx feigned interest, but he really wanted to sell her to Zygerrian slavers. As Inx operated on Kallistas, Linrec notified his underling, prefect Dengless Rinn, to look for his daughter. Rinn was afraid of Linrec discovering the preparations for his coup. Linrec and his troops could reach Kallistas in three days, giving him only a short time to find Cressis. To do so, Rinn hired three bounty hunters: Demos Traxen, Sirenas Firil and Chandrex Grenn. Rinn also asked Zian to keep an eye on them, just in case they were not trustworthy.[2]

Before Rinn's scheme could bear fruit, some bounty hunters foiled it and Rinn was discovered. He was forced to leave Kallistas with little more than the clothes he was wearing at the moment. The Empire wanted him for treason, conspiracy, illegal possession of weapons and flight to avoid prosecution. It was believed that Rinn had used his smuggling contacts to hide in the Outer Rim Territories. Rinn had not been captured as of 6 ABY.[1]

[edit] Behind the scenes

Galaxy Guide 11: Criminal Organizations describes Rinn as "Tall and lanky". In the same box, Rinn's height is listed as 1.40 meters, which is normally not considered tall for a Human male.
