[edit] History
The planet was at the confluence of the Hydian Way and the Corellian Run. In terms of being an ecumenopolis, it was second only to Coruscant. Denon was a heavily-populated world that rose to prominence during the rule of the Galactic Republic, which it had joined circa 22,000 BBY.
Denon was where Zam Wesell trained to become an assassin, and was the location of a murder trial against Doctor Evazan, though he ultimately escaped from the courtroom. The planet was later adopted as the temporary capital of the Galactic Alliance following the resolution of the Yuuzhan Vong War in 29 ABY. Denon was chosen as the new galactic headquarters due to the fact that it had escaped the Yuuzhan Vong invasion unscathed, and thanks to its proximity to the Core Worlds. By 35 ABY Coruscant had become the galactic capital once more and Denon was the second most important world in the Galaxy once again.
Following the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Vahali family, which had fled Kaikielius during Operation Shadow Hand, regained wealth and importance on Denon. [2]
