Derel was a clone naval officer who served in the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars. Holding the rank of lieutenant, he served as a principal warfare officer of Leveler, under command of Captain Gilad Pellaeon. Pellaeon commented that he wished all the bridge posts on his ship were manned by clones such as Derel. Derel was stationed aboard the Leveler during the engagement with the Separatist fleet over JanFathal.
