Derrin was a Human mercenary and a non-Force sensitive member of the Brotherhood of Darkness. Derrin fled from the Seventh Battle of Ruusan after the Army of Light managed to break through the Brotherhood's defenses, and returned to the Sith camp. While scavenging treasures and supplies, the group of mercenaries Derrin was with was attacked by Darth Bane.

Derrin was killed, along with Rell and Pad, as they stood guard at the Sith camp by a direct lightsaber strike to the body. However, Bane let their comrades Lergan and Hansh live.
