Desolation Alley was a maximum security federal prison on the asteroid Oovo IV. Aurra Sing and Bendix Fust were both imprisoned there. During the last years of the Galactic Republic, Fenn Booda served as the prison warden.

In addition to corrections officers and security guards, the prison was patrolled by RC-AD Riot Control/Assault Droids. Ugnaughts were made engineers in the prison, usually keeping up on maintenance and repairs, especially the crucial deflector shield generators.

Jango Fett, while escaping an unsuccessful bounty mission, stole the famous prototype Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft Slave I here.

By 32 BBY, the prison became famous for podracing. It was later destroyed by the forces of the Yuuzhan Vong during the Yuuzhan Vong War.
