Deverén was the spokesbeing for the Supreme Council of the Highland Clans and presided when Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa were captured and brought before the council for trial. She was convinced to side with the Rebels when she recognized Luke's lightsaber as the same one that their "wingless brother," Anakin Skywalker, carried during the Clone Wars when he helped to saved their planet, Skye, from destruction.
