The dianoga heart is an item and presumably the heart of a Dianoga. Yoda asks Luke to retrieve this for him, and to do so, Luke must defeat a strange creature, much unlike that of a Dianoga. When retrieved, Yoda will trade the heart for a Spirit Heart.
