The Director of New Republic Intelligence (DNRI) was the New Republic General Ministry official subject to the authority, direction and control of the President of the New Republic who was responsible for serving as the principal advisor to the President, Defense Council and Council on Security and Intelligence for intelligence matters related to the Republic's security, and overseeing and directing the intelligence program of the New Republic.
DNRI presumably held final responsibility for all NRIS operations, excluding from which he was protected by plausible deniability, such as Alpha Blue's operations.
When the New Republic transitioned into the Galactic Alliance, the Director of New Republic Intelligence became the Director of Galactic Alliance Intelligence.
