Djerba (Arabic: جربة) is with its 514 km² the largest island off North Africa, located in the Gulf of Gabes off the coast of Tunisia. Sidi Jemour and Ajim in west Djerba were filmed in April 1976 for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

The Tatooine beast of burden Jerba took its name from that of the island.
