Plot summary[]

THE ENORMOUS PROFIT
Part II
It is a period of opportunity. In a galaxy oppressed by
Imperial forces, there is little hope for the future. But
for those operating on the fringes, there is potential for
profit.

Rogue archaeologist Chelli Aphra has recovered and
reactivated the Rur Crystal, an artifact with the
consciousness of an ancient Jedi and powerful levels of
technopathy, and she's selling to the highest bidder.

Aphra throws an auction, hosting some of the biggest names
in the black market. Meanwhile, her droid accomplices
BeeTee and Triple-Zero start to get restless. The stakes
of the auction are rising....[2]

The bidding war[]

Triple Zero tells Dr Chelli Lona Aphra, who is putting on lipstick, that the bidders are waiting for them. Addressing the bidders, Triple Zero tells them that he has scheduled personal meetings with all those who wish to put forward serious offers. She tells the guest to relax while waiting for their turn and not to turn the resort into fighting pit.

One of Papa Toren's Ximpi informs Dr Aphra that one of the bodies that Papa Toren is representing would like to examine the artifacts in person before making an offer. Dr Aphra tells Papa Toren to be quick while she deals with the first bidder, Thomas Toov. Toov claims that he can pay more than the other bidders and tells Dr Aphra of his plans to use the Rur crystal to achieve eternal life. He plans to continue running his business for eternity.

Dr Aphra then intervenes before a fight can break out between the Son-tuul Pride and the Hutt Sutha. However, Suntha reveals that he and the Son-tuul Pride have decided to merge their offers. In private, they plan to bleed their partners should they lose their bids.

Dr Aphra then goes to meet with the Cyban Front, whose red colored leader is overseeing the repairs by an 8D-series smelter droid on the fallen blue droid, which had been possessed by Eternal Rur. The Cyban Front's representative advocates the destruction of the Rur crystal due to the danger of technopathy. He says that the Cyban Front are offering a considerable reward. Dr Aphra is reluctant to destroy the Rur crystal since she considers it too valuable. Triple Zero and BT-1 then interrupt the smelter droid, offering to complete the repairs to the blue droid.

Dr Aphra meets with the xenophobic Ezaraa delegation, who want to rule the universe. They are offering 0.0001% of their Imperial revenue for Dr Aphra and her next ten descendants. Dr Aphra rejects the offer as worthless. The Ezaraa leaders threatens to condemn Aphra and her descendants as "forever heretics" consigned to be tortured for eternity in their torture plants. Dr Aphra says she will consider their offer. In private, Triple Zero reassures her that the Ezaraa Dominion is limited to two continents. Dr Aphra questions her wisdom in inviting the Ezaraa.

Later, Dr Aphra meets in a lush garden with two red-haired representatives from the Shadow University. She thinks that their offer is too low but the male academics says that the payment consists of unique artifacts and full access to the Shadow University's archives, which would include the Rur crystal. Switching from carrot to stick mode, the academics warn that they are aware of the fraudulent way she obtained her doctorate and how she buried the evidence. They offer to let her keep her title if she accepts their bid. Dr Aphra responds that she is a selfish monster willing to do anything for a credit and that anyone who thinks otherwise will regret it before walking away.

Unexpected troubles[]

Shortly later, Papa Toren returns and reveals that his clients are the Xonti Brothers, taking Dr Aphra and Krrsantan by surprise. Black Krrsantan picks a fight with the hulking alien Kthoo-Ra but is electrocuted by the alien, who has been fitted with cybernetic implants. Triple Zero and BT-1 take Black Krrsantan to the medbay. The Xonti Brothers tell Dr Aphra that they want to use the Rur crystal to build disposal androids that can be rebuilt again and again as a business gamble.

At the medbay, Dr Aphra attends to the unconscious Black Krrsantan. She tells Triple Zero to awake him. The Wookiee chokes Dr Aphra but Triple Zero manages to calm him down by offering to let him pay back his life debt once they have been paid. Black Krrsantan lets Dr Aphra go to her relief. Triple Zero informs Dr Aphra that the Shadow University has increased its bid significantly to a little over a third of Toov's. Dr Aphra decides to accept the Shadow University's bid in order to keep her doctoral title.

Dr Aphra and her entourage return to the ballroom where Triple Zero hands out transponders to the bidders. Black Krrsantan takes offense at the Xonti Brothers' presence bit Dr Aphra convinces him to calm down. Dr Aphra rejects Sutha-Soontha, Toov, the Xonti Brothers, and the Ezaraa's bid and accepts the Shadow University's bid. Before Dr Aphra can arrange shipment to the Shadow University, the cylinder storing the Rur crystal suddenly surfaces to the shock of everyone including Dr Aphra.

Eternal Rur, who has been installed by Triple Zero and BT-1 inside the blue droid, uses two blue lightsabers to cut himself out off the cylinder and marches out. The gun turrets also surface from the ceiling. Eternal Rur tells Aphra and the shocked bidders that they will have Rur and his rage.
