Doge was a title used by the Dug leader Nakha Urus during the Clone Wars. It was likely the title given to the head of the Malastarian council which governed the Dugs.

Behind the scenesEdit

The real world title of Doge (or Doxe) comes from the Venetian dialect of Italian and was used primarily by the rulers of several Italian republics in history, and is roughly equivalent to "duke" in meaning. Unlike the typical duke, the title of doge often bore military connotations. This applies to Doge Urus as he led the armed Dug resistance against the Separatist Droid Army.
