- "Blast! This is why I hate flying!"
- ―Obi-Wan Kenobi
- "Dad! I think we're being tracked!"
"He must have put a homing device on our hull. Hang on, son. We'll move into the asteroid field, and we'll have a couple of surprises for him."
- ―Boba and Jango Fett
After a duel with Jango Fett on Kamino, Obi-Wan Kenobi threw a homing beacon on the departing Slave I's hull. He tracked the ship to the planet Geonosis. After Boba Fett saw they were being tracked, Jango flew the Slave I into the ring around the planet.

After this, Fett then fired a homing missile hoping to finish him off.

He would then followed the him to the surface.
- "May I ask why a Jedi Knight is all the way out here on Geonosis?"
"I'm tracking a bounty hunter named Jango Fett. Do you know him?"
"There are no bounty hunters here that I'm aware of. The Geonosians don't trust them."
"Well, who can blame them? But he is here, I assure you."
- ―Count Dooku and Obi-Wan Kenobi
