Dorovio Bold was a Human female Rebel Alliance X-wing starfighter pilot during the First Galactic Civil War.

Biography

A Human female from an unknown planet and system, Dorovio Bold served in the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Period and was known to be one of the best cadets at the Imperial Academy. During the time of the First Galactic Civil War, Bold learned of of what happened to Alderaan and how it was destroyed by the Empire. She viewed the Empire to be tyrannical and decided to join the Rebel Alliance[1]

In 4 ABY, Bold was one of many pilots that gathered to meet with the Alliance Fleet over Sullust in preparing for a dangerous mission to destroy the Empire's second Death Star that was been constructed over the forest moon of Endor. Present with many pilots at Ackbar and Madine's briefing on the mission, Bold flew a T-65 X-wing starfighter and participated in the battle of Endor.

Behind the scenes

Dorovio Bold started out as an unnamed pilot filmed for Return of the Jedi. No footage of actress Vivienne Chandler in the cockpit made the final cut, though she may be present in the briefing room aboard Home One. Her photo was revealed years later on StarWars.com's Hyperspace, and she was later named in The Complete Visual Dictionary.

Footage of Chandler filming scenes in the cockpit for the battle recently resurfaced which suggests that she was one of the pilots making the final assault on the Death Star, and that she would have been killed when her fighter suffered fatal stabilizer damage.[2]

A Dorovio Bold action figure was included as part of an 'Evolutions' three-pack of Rebel pilots in 2008.
