The dread weapon was a biologically engineered worm-like organism that extended from the bow of a Yuuzhan Vong warship or worldship. The creature then punctured the surface of an enemy ship or space station and sucked out all beings aboard. Alternatively, the dread weapon could be used to puncture a planetary surface, as on Helska 4 when the first Yuuzhan Vong worldship landed.
