Dressellian language

Dressellian, or Dressellese,[1] was the official language of Dressel, used by its native species, the Dressellians. Dressellian was a simple language that took thousands of years to evolve, including its written form, a symbol-based system.[1]
Due to the close relations that Dressellians had with the Bothans, soon after joining the galactic community, Dressellian borrowed a great number of Bothese terms into its lexicon. Once Dressel was free from the Imperial forces which occupied their homeworld, the Dressellians rejected their own, archaic graphic system to write their language, adopting the Bothese alphabet for this role.[1]
Most Dressellians were also Basic-speakers.[1]
