Usage and history
Purpose	Boring through hard surfaces

Drills were machines used to bore through hard surfaces, usually the ground for mining purposes. Drills could also be used as weaponry and Trident-class assault ships were equipped with drill spikes that could be used to drill into structures or other starships.
