Energized armor drew on the power source of the droid and applied a current through a specially designed matrix on the armor, hence the energized armor Mark II created a formidable physical barrier. Much more resilient than the Mark I armor, it was difficult to manufacture and took years to produce, thus it became the most expensive droid armor on the open market.
