The droid optimized interface was a type of droid component that was used to increase the speed and quality of droids' interactions with computer systems. The interface was quite common during the Dark Wars, a series of conflicts between the Galactic Republic and the remnants of the Sith Empire.

DescriptionEdit

The droid optimized interface was a droid component that was gray in color and could be installed on most droid models.[3] The optimized design of the interface allowed droids to interact with computer systems more quickly and decisively.[1]

HistoryEdit

During the Dark Wars,[2] a series of conflicts that occurred between the Galactic Republic and the remnants of the Sith Empire, the droid optimized interface was a common type of droid component.[1] In the year 3951 BBY,[2] the droid optimized interface was sold by merchants for around fifty credits.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

The droid optimized interface made its first appearance in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, a video game produced by Obsidian Entertainment that was released[1] for Xbox on December 6, 2004,[4] and for PC on February 8, 2005.[5] In the game, the interface was identified as a class 1 droid upgrade, which meant that droids of any level could have it equipped. The interface provided droids with a small increase to their computer use skill, and the item could be found in random locations throughout the game, as well as for sale at merchants. However, the player was not guaranteed to find the item every time the game was played through.[1]
