A dual-drive system was a combination of an intra-system and intra-galactic engine, or drive, setup. Intra-system drives included anti-grav and ion engines. Hyperdrives constituted the other part of the dual-drive system. They could only be activated once out of a planet's gravity well, but they enable paralight travel.
