More than a thousand years before the Invasion of Naboo, the Jedi Council engaged the Anzat Dark Jedi Master Volfe Karkko in a lightsaber duel on the planet Kiffex. After a fierce duel, the Jedi were able to subdue Karkko. Rather than kill him, however, he was imprisoned in a stasis field and left to contemplate his fall to the dark side of the Force.
