Blue-question-mark

There are two conflicting sources for this article: The Dark Forces Saga and Darth Bane: Rule of Two.

Lucasfilm has not established a cohesive timeline regarding this subject. Editor discretion is advised.

The Duel on Ruusan occurred between Darovit and Darth Zannah, who had last met on that world at the end of the Seventh Battle of Ruusan in 1000 BBY. Since then, Zannah had become the Sith apprentice of Darth Bane. The duel, which occurred within the Valley of the Jedi, had a "deadly" outcome.

Behind the scenes

The Dark Forces Saga referred to this event as a confrontation between Zannah and "her sibling." Abel G. Peña, one of the authors of the series of articles, later acknowledged that this was a mistake. Instead it was intended to refer to Darovit, who was Zannah's cousin.[1]

With the publication of the novel Darth Bane: Rule of Two this event's place in the Star Wars canon has become unclear. Darovit does meet Zannah after she has become an apprentice to Darth Bane in Rule of Two. However, the point of conflict between Rule of Two and The Dark Forces Saga lies in Darovit never engaging Zannah in "a final deadly confrontation" on Ruusan. Darovit's death at the end of Rule of Two would appear to prevent him from being able to do so in a future publication.
