The Ebon Sea was the one of the few bodies of water on Geonosis. It was a stagnant sea covered in scum, and had been contaminated by seepage from Golbah's Pit.

The land around the Ebon Sea was populated by acklays that had bred there after escaping from captivity. Amphibious mutant acklays lived beneath its waters, surfacing to attack prey on the land. Geonosian hydras lived on the muddy sea bottom.
