Echani was a form of martial art taught to every stormtrooper and Imperial officer in the Galactic Empire as part of standard training, which also included the art of Zavat and the Imperial Combat Exercises. Admiral Rae Sloane's personal assistant Adea Rite attempted to use her training in the arts on the planet Akiva in order to subdue the escaped prisoner Wedge Antilles; however, she was defeated when Antilles accidentally shot her with a blaster during the brawl.[1] The art shared its name with the Echani species.[2]

Behind the scenesEdit

Echani was first introduced in the Star Wars Legends comic book series Crimson Empire, which was written by Mike Richardson and Randy Stradley and released between 1997 and 1998. It was canonized by the novel Aftermath, which was written by Chuck Wendig and released in 2015.
