Galactic Empire

"Find out who is in charge of this. Offer him twice the credits he is being paid to come to work on my skyhook."
Prince Xizor[src]

The Emperor's skyhook was located above Coruscant. It was the biggest and most lavish skyhook in the galaxy.

[edit] Characteristics

"I really must see about hiring your spies away from you, especially after you stole my best horticulturist. A pity the man had that fatal lift accident before he could start working for you."
"Yes, a pity.
"
Emperor Palpatine and Xizor[src]

No one ever dared to build one larger or better than that of Palpatine's, as the greedy Emperor would kill anyone who dared attempt it.

It was one and a half times the size of Falleen's Fist and contained a huge central park. Emperor Palpatine housed his greatest treasures here, preferring to keep the most priceless ones in space instead of his Palace.

His botanist in charge of his orbiting garden was one of the best in the galaxy. When Prince Xizor attempted to hire him away from the Emperor's service, the botanist was mysteriously killed in an elevator 'accident'; no doubt an 'accident' under the direction of Palpatine.

Palpatine had his Imperial Royal Guard and stormtroopers guarding his skyhook, and had an Imperial Throne Room aboard this home away from home, so he could still rule his Empire even though he was not on Coruscant.
