Endor was a planet[4] located in the Endor system,[1] a binary[2] star system positioned in the Moddell sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories,[1] that was orbited by a forest moon of the same name.[3]

Behind the scenesEdit

Endor was first mentioned in a Star Wars Legends novelization of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi written by James Kahn[5] and released on May 12, 1983.[6] It became canon when it was mentioned in Star Wars in 100 Scenes, a reference book written by Jason Fry[4] that was released on August 18, 2014.[7]

In the earliest drafts of Return of the Jedi, the forest moon of Endor, then known as the "green moon," orbited the Imperial capital world of Had Abbadon.[8]
