Equipment is a short story written by Matthew Stover.It was originally published in the Hasbro Short Story Collection in July 2003. Equipment is offered as a free download on StarWars.com, but later was featured in the paperback edition of Shatterpoint, written by Matthew Stover and published by Del Rey in April 2004.

The story is "a personal account of the sub-orbital action at Haruun Kal, as reported by Auxiliary Heavy-Weapons Specialist CT-6/774."

It explains the clonetroopers' motto, "Take care of your equipment, and your equipment will take care of you." This motto comes to fruition when, even after their LAAT/i gunship has been destroyed, they use what resources they have as they float away and continue to fight to the end.
