Corporate Sector Authority

The Security Police, or in contracted form, the Espos (or Boys-in-brown in Deal-slang), were the main force of the Corporate Sector Authority responsible for law enforcement and the defense of the CSA's territories. The name Espo was also a slang term used by smugglers to refer to members of the organization.

Espos had a reputation for brutality throughout the Corporate Sector. They were distinguished by their brown uniforms and KZZ riot armor. Armed with their riot guns and Merr-Sonn stun batons, they were known to have used brutal and even lethal force against rioters and other sorts of "disobedient" beings and sometimes severe interrogative tactics. They were also widely known for their use of the FC-1 flechette launcher. Espos also had access to heavier weaponry, such as mortars and walkers. Individuals who were convicted of political crimes within the Corporate Sector were sentenced to terms at a secret prison called Stars' End.

The Security Division maintained a large fleet but of relatively outdated vessels to patrol their territory. Most of the fleet consisted of first-generation Victory-I-class Star Destroyers, Invincible-class Dreadnaughts, secondhand Recusant-class light destroyers[3] and Marauder-class corvettes. The Authority IRD was one of the numerous types of starfighters used by the Security Division, as was the former CIS Mankvim-814 light interceptor[3]. The CSA began purchasing large amounts of Dreadnaught-class heavy cruisers as soon as they were developed. At some point prior to the Battle of Yavin, the CSA military sold a number of its older Marauder-class corvettes to the fledgling Rebel Alliance.
