The Esus Mesa was a rock formation in the Jundland Wastes on Tatooine. A smooth rock mesa with a small bridge connecting it to a cave, the Esus Mesa was situated in the mountains separating the Jundland Wastes and the Dune Sea.

In the year 3,641 BBY, the Sith Lord Praven summoned a Jedi Knight to the mesa in order to duel. The Knight, who had killed Tarnis, Praven's apprentice and the son of Praven's master Darth Angral, was searching for the stolen Republic superweapon known as the Shock Drum. The Jedi was also looking for their Padawan Kira Carsen's former Master Bela Kiwiiks. The Knight was able to defeat Praven and turn him to the light side, convincing him to give up the dark side and the deactivation codes for the Shock Drum.

Behind the scenes

The Esus Mesa was created for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game released by BioWare on December 20, 2011. It appears as a class story area for the Jedi Knight character, who duels Lord Praven atop the mesa.^[1]
