[edit] Production
The music for the LP was composed by Peter Bernstein. The album was only ever officially released as an LP on 12-08-1986. Only about half an hour of music from the two films was presented due to storage limitations of LP's at the time.
Tracks composed by Peter Bernstein for Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure were conducted by Harry Rabinowitz. For Ewoks: The Battle for Endor Peter Bernstein both composed and conducted the score.
[edit] Caravan Of Courage Score Credits
- Composed by Peter Bernstein
- Conducted by Harry Rabinowitz
- Orchestration by Christopher Palmer
- Performed by members of The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra
- Music Editor: Kathy Durning
[edit] The Battle of Endor Score Credits
- Composed & Conducted by Peter Bernstein
- Orchestrations by Christopher Palmer
- Supervising Music Editor: Kathy Durning/Segue Music
Peter Bernsteing also adapted "Wicket's Theme" from John Williams' original. At one point during Caravan Of Courage, a reprise of a few notes from "Wicket's Theme" from Return of the Jedi can be briefly heard. This is also the case for The Battle For Endor.
Jeff Moss wrote the song "My Star" sung by Cindel Towani in The Battle For Endor. For whatever reason, this song was not released on the official album and remains unreleased.
An Ewoks record, associated with the Ewoks cartoon series, was released in France by AB Productions. It can be seen here at the official Star Wars website.
[edit] Bootleg
The LP was later bootlegged onto CD by a group in Singapore in 1999 and retitled Star Wars: Ewoks. The bootleg has a number of discrepancies including an incorrect track arrangement, incorrect track names & incorrect track times. For example, Track 1 "The Trek" has had "20th Century Fox Fanfare" tacked onto the start of "Trek" (from the official release) extending it a further 29 seconds.
A FLAC audio recording of the 14 official tracks from the original 12" LP was also in circulation at one stage.

The so called "Additional Material" tracks have never officially been sanctioned by Lucasfilm Ltd. and are in fact poorly engineered tracks cobbled together from a mixture of tracks from both the Star Wars Trilogy: The Original Soundtrack Anthology & various releases of the Return of the Jedi soundtrack.
[edit] Fan and collector interest
Since the end of the release of the album, the LP has become an extremely rare find. The LP is very much valued by many collectors. Most fans who own the score, only own it in its bootlegged form. Unfortunately, the availability of this bootleg has prevented a number of fan petitions (to have the album officially re-released) gather any significant momentum.
