Excarga was a mining world in the Outer Rim Territories in relative proximity to Gall. The planet had ties to the Mining Guild.
Excarga was the site of the First and Second Battles of Excarga in 22 BBY, during the Clone Wars; in the former, the planet was captured by the Confederacy of Independent Systems; in the latter, liberated by the Galactic Republic.

History
Edit
Galactic Republic
Edit
During the Clone Wars, just a few weeks after the Battle of Geonosis, the Confederacy of Independent Systems initiated an attack on the planet after learning of the valuable ore located there. The C.I.S. attack on Excarga was successful and they imprisoned the planet's population.[1] However their victory was short lived when Galactic Republic forces on the planet defeated the rising droid armies during the Second Battle of Excarga.[1] As the the C.I.S. fleet fled the planet a Republic fleet under the command of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker attempted to destroy any droid transports before they could escape into hyperspace.[2]
Galactic Empire
Edit
The planet later fell under the influence of the Galactic Empire, and was represented in Imperial Senate by Drextar Pym. The ore-producing world for the most part managed to stay far from the front lines during the Galactic Civil War, while it secretly suppled the Rebel Alliance with materials.[3] However, an unknown battle between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire occurred here sometime during the Galactic Civil War between 0 BBY to 4 ABY. Following the Battle of Endor, Excarga became an active member of the New Republic.[3]
