The excavator droid Mark I was a quadrupedal mining droid model used at the Peragus Mining Facility circa 3,951 BBY. It was similar to the mining droid Mark I, except it could use sonic charges to unblock caved-in passages. After the droids went rogue, several excavator droids used this function much like a grenade launcher to fire sonic projectiles at the Jedi Exile when she was trapped in the mining tunnels.
