Executive was a catch-all term used to describe the leader of or an officer within a corporation or other for-profit venture in the galaxy. Such persons bearing the title included Wat Tambor of the Techno Union and Jana Lorso of Czerka Corporation, as well as other leaders of various corporate entities.

Executive can also refer to executive officer, a common term for the second-in-command of may other kinds of entities, from capital ships serving in a military capacity to mercenary units and even smuggling organizations. In the event of the incapacitation or death of the commanding officer, the executive would step in to take over command.
