The Exploration Corps (commonly abbreviated to ExplorCorps) was an archaeological branch of the Jedi Service Corps maintained by the Jedi Order that was responsible for exploring the Unknown Regions. Before the Order was reformed, the Academy of Jedi Archaeology served the same purpose.
Members were usually former younglings that had not been chosen as Padawans, though ExplorCorps also included Jedi such as Jocasta Nu and various other Jedi archaeologists and Jedi archivists. The ExplorCorps had a branch on Mycroft, presumably operating with the Intergalactic Zoological Society. The organization maintained their headquarters within the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
The study of the past of the Jedi and the galaxy was also part of the mandate of this organization.
After the execution of Order 66, the ExplorCorps was dissolved and all its members were executed, or went into hiding.
